Great Water Storage Barrels

Sara Fisk is going a group order for large water storage barrels. These barrels are the same quality as the Surewatertanks-except they are almost half the price. If you were to purchase 5 of the 55 gallon water barrels you would be paying, at the minium $275-$325. You would laso be taking up 5 times the floor space as just one of these large capacity water barrels. If you can afford to get all your water storage barrels at once, then these barrels make alot of sense.

This is the information sent out by Sara-

If you were in the ward before the boundary changes, you know that I have been working on a group purchase of water storage tanks. I have a much less expensive option and wanted to make sure everyone was aware of it as the orders will be finalized within the next few weeks. If you are new to the ward, here is the information. The manufacturer is Plastic Mart and here is a picture of the tank http://www.plastic-mart.com/class.php?item=3379. Here are the options:

270 gallon tank (31" dia. x 85"H): tank $170, shipping $68, spigot hole $20 TOTAL: $258

300 gallon tank (42" dia. x 57"H): tank $170, shipping $68, spigot hole $20 TOTAL: $258 (same price!)

525 gallon tank (45" dia. x 80"H) : tank $230 shipping $68 spigot hole $20 TOTAL: $318

550 gallon tank (64" dia. x 48"H) tank $230 shipping $68 spigot hole $20 TOTAL: $318 (same price!)

Plastic Mart will put an additional hole in the lower 2/3 of the tank for $20 per tank into which we can screw a 3/4 standard spigot. (This hole will be fitted with a connectore to screw in the spigot-makiing it water tight. You cannot drill the hole yourself) - This will make it really easy to place a bucket under the spigot, and use it to get the water out. Water spigots can be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot. The opening at the bottom can be used to drain the tank with or without the spigot, but it is an option to put one there as well. The bottom hole is 2" and will require two additional pipe fittings to reduce the size to 3/4 inch-to be able to put in a spigot. This is not difficult to do and very inexpensive. This will be something that each person who buys a tank will be responsible for on their own; but there is a huge savings in doing so. We are getting a $20 saving per tank off their online sale price and a break in the shipping. We MUST have an order of 25 tanks to get this price. I currently have 18 on order and about 20 people who have not committed as they were waiting to hear what the final price was. I need to know by this FRIDAY, AUGUST 21 if you are going to participate in this order so I know where we are on numbers. I will begin collecting money Monday. It is impossible for me to come to each of you to collect money so it will be up to you to get payment to me by the following FRIDAY, AUGUST 28 as cash, check or money order. I prefer cash or a money order; I will have to wait for checks to clear before I can place the order so it makes the process longer, but I will take a check if there is no other option. An additional fee (that I'm not sure the amount of) will apply to those who want to use their own credit cards because of the additional accounting required by Plastic Mart. Please email or call me if you have additional questions or concerns or if any part of this is confusing.

P.S. Each person who buys a tank should also have a WHITE water hose found in the RV section of any hardware store or RV supply store. The standard green garden hoses have a very high lead content and are not suitable for filling a tank for human consumption.

FYI-

Sara told me that she could accept orders for the next two weeks (by Sept 4th). However, she will be placing the order when ever she gets an order for 25 barrels. If you miss the order you will have to wait until she gets another group of 25 together. This may or may not happen. She only gets the discount is she orders 25.
